The 8cento Association in collaboration with the Civic Museum of the Risorgimento of Bologna, promotes the historical re-enactment of the events that, starting from 1848, brought to 12 June 1859, historical date that saw the final departure from the city of the Austrian imperial troops and the Cardinale Legato. After a decade of tensions and submerged preparation for the new order of things "Bologna from that moment was free", ready to go towards the unification of Italy.
160 years later, the places of that time become the theater of historical memory, according to an artistic, historical and cultural project, an expression of the history of the territory and of the Italian Risorgimento.
The historical re-enactment "Bologna from that moment was free" is part of Bologna Estate 2019, the program of activities promoted and coordinated by the Municipality of Bologna and the Metropolitan City of Bologna - Tourist Destination, and is part of the Emilia-Romagna Historical Re-enactment calendar.
